GLOBAL HEALTH EMERGENCY WITH COVID-19: AKWA IBOM STATE RECORDS 5 CASES
As at 8:00pm 1st April, there are 174 confirmed cases, 9 discharged, 2 deaths.
Akwa Ibom State has recorded its first 5 confirmed cases as announced earlier by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control. According to the new data released by NCDC five of the 23 new cases recorded from Akwa Ibom State, 9 from Lagos, 7 in FCT, 1 in Kaduna, 1in Bauchi State. This is the highest so far since the outbreak.
A breakdown of the states where the case have been confirmed;

Akwa Ibom - 5
Ogun - 4
Edo - 4
Kaduna - 4
Bauchi - 3
Enugu - 2
Ekiti - 2
Rivers - 1
Benue - 1
Nigeria is expected to have more cases as health authorities have embarked on contact tracing to locate thousands of people who have been in contact with the infected persons.
NCDC boss Mr. Ihekweazu said on Monday that the government is working hard to increase testing centers in the country and number of people tested daily.
