STRESS AND IT'S EFFECTS ON HEALTH AND BEAUTY(CONTINUED)

The other time we stopped at types of stress and I deliberated on Acute Stress. We have two more:

Episodic stress;
It's a recurrence of acute stress. It occurs when a person has too many commitments but with poor arrangements. There is tendency to be tensed and irritated. Consistent repetition can be harmful. This type of stress could lead to high blood pressure or heart disease.

Chronic Stress;
It is the most harmful type of stress and lasts for a period of time. It may be caused by prolonged poverty,a broken or dysfunctional home or an unhappy marriage, a traumatic experience of life and the list goes on. It lingers because most of the times the person involved do not see possible ways to resolve it. It may continue in an individual unnoticed. Those with this type of stress are likely to have a final break down that can lead to suicide,violent actions,heart attacks stroke.

      EFFECTS OF STRESS

- It leads to thinking and memory problems,which could result in addiction to substances like alcohol.
- Absence of sleep
- Depression and anxiety
- Autoimmune diseases ( frequent colds and flu)
- Pain of different kinds(chest pain,head ache)
- Heart diseases ( rapid heart rate and high blood pressure)
- Reproductive issues (loss of sex drive, infertility)
- Digestive problems ( constipation, diarrhoea)
- Weight problems
-Skin conditions e.g eczema..

When you have eczema on your skin,you are not comfortable, you don't feel beautiful and you're not healthy.

      HOW TO MANAGE STRESS

- Exercise often. It helps to boost your mental and physical health.
- Reduce intake of alcohol. It doesn't solve the problem.
- Eat a healthy diet always.
- Prioritize things you want to do.
- Set aside some time to organize your life.
- Take quality care of your skin.
- Meditation, massage,yoga can help. Breathing and relaxation techniques can slow down your heart rate.
- Talk to some one. Learn to share your worries. That's the beginning of solutions.
- Acknowledge effects and signs of stress and act fast.
- Find your own distressor. That particular thing that helps you relieve stress in a positive way. It maybe music, going for a walk, reading a book,visiting the gym........
- Join support groups in your locality.
